One day, Junior has to go for a dental check-up, where he finds out his poor snacking habits has caused a cavity!
Dr. Pearls now must fix his tooth by placing a filling.
Juniors experience allows him to realize that bad food choices and poor oral hygiene may encourage sugar monsters to cause tooth decay.
About the Author
Dr. Shamika Strachan is a dentist, wife and a mom of two boys who bring excitement and animation to her life everyday. Although this is her first children's book, the inspiration had been there long before she realized. Her love and passion for dentistry and children, along with the interaction with her oldest son Travis Jr. as she instilled in him good brushing habits drove her to put pen to paper in 2018. Her husband, Travis Strachan Sr. who is a gifted artist agreed to illustrate the book, which made it a complete family project; family being the closest thing to Dr. Strachan's heart next to God. Throughout the book there are characters who represent her mom, niece and youngest son Tyree. It's a book that will always be cherished because of the enrichment in the relationships between all of those persons who made it possible, especially her dear husband and son.
